AUTOPHONETICS- Voice Work
What
is Autophonetics? Autophonetics was developed by Arden Wilken to complement and enhance the movement created in the individual by the music of INNER SOUND. The application of sound or music to the individual is an effective way to unblock the organism and help the individual return to a more natural and basic movement of expansion and contraction. Self-generated sound creates a high amplitude of vibration inside the body and gives the individual an effective tool to be used to create relaxation. Anyone can do Autophonetics whether or not they have had any vocal training. It is complementary to all other vocal, chanting, toning or singing techniques as it brings the individual into deeper contact with their body, feelings, emotions and energy allowing them to freely express their inner sound. Autophonetcis uses vocalic sounds to create mechanical vibrations in the body. These sounds occur naturally when air passes from the lungs through the vocal chords and vocal tract. The vocal tract is the channel between the voice box and the lips. It is a slim tube of air, made up of the pharynx and the oral cavity, the mouth. These sounds, similar to some vowel sounds that occur in many languages, are created by the natural resonance of the oral tract. Benefits: -
